Q3. Which staff are considered 'teachers' under the requirements?

All Teachers

The term ‘Teacher’ includes:

teachers
tutors
trainers
lecturers
instructors
anyone whose role involves aspects of teaching.

This is regardless of:

job title
type of contract
whether full or part time
whether teaching is combined with other non-teaching or teacher-related roles
(e.g. managers, assessors, verifiers etc)

NB not considered ‘Teachers’: (Please see Route H)

Those exclusively in non-teaching roles or teacher related roles, such as:

Assessors (who do not also teach)
Verifiers (who do not also teach)

Learning support practitioners (Please see Route I)
